It wasn’t supposed to be this way. I thought I would have more time to see the beauty of Munich, Germany. But here I was, keeping warm by dashing between sites.
With packing, I find there is no happy medium. It’s either “Shit I can’t believe I forgot that” or “Why did I bring that”, there’s no middle ground. When I was packing for my Alps road trip, I knew I needed to be strict.
Planning outfits was the easiest way to figure out how much clothing I really needed to bring. Call it what you will (cough – A-type – cough). I know okay. I LOVE planning. Deal with it. I brought the least amount of clothing without feeling dirty, plus I knew most items would be under a coat anyway, so wear something three times in a row was acceptable.
The storybook city of Salzburg offers so much more than I ever expected. It was never supposed to be a big stop on my whirlwind tour of Central Europe, but it ended up being my absolute favourite stop on the road trip.
I had completely changed our trip plans because of a Pinterest picture of Hallstatt, Austria.
My whirlwind road trip through four countries in four days wasn’t supposed to extend that far east. But one picture made me completely change our itinerary. Visiting this stunning mountain-side village was completely worth it.
Question: Can you see four countries in Central Europe in four days? Why yes, yes you can. I recently came back from my Central Europe road trip that covered Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
My travel buddy and I hit three major cities and three smaller towns/cities, as well as ate delicious food and saw many amazing sights. Going in winter also gave me an appreciation of how busy these places are on an off-peak day.
