If you grew up in the 90s, its guaranteed you watched a movie about (and wanted to be) a Disney Princess; and what did many of the Princess have in common? A stellar castle. The castle of Princess Aurora – aka Sleeping Beauty – was actually inspired by a real-life castle right in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, the Neuschwanstein Castle. Understanding how to get to Neuschwanstein Castle can be overwhelming for first-time visitors, but once you know how, getting there will be a breeze.
It’s not furious, but it is fast. The Autobahn, or federal roadways in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, are amazing pieces of engineering and speed.
With packing, I find there is no happy medium. It’s either “Shit I can’t believe I forgot that” or “Why did I bring that”, there’s no middle ground. When I was packing for my Alps road trip, I knew I needed to be strict.
Planning outfits was the easiest way to figure out how much clothing I really needed to bring. Call it what you will (cough – A-type – cough). I know okay. I LOVE planning. Deal with it. I brought the least amount of clothing without feeling dirty, plus I knew most items would be under a coat anyway, so wear something three times in a row was acceptable.
Question: Can you see four countries in Central Europe in four days? Why yes, yes you can. I recently came back from my Central Europe road trip that covered Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland.
My travel buddy and I hit three major cities and three smaller towns/cities, as well as ate delicious food and saw many amazing sights. Going in winter also gave me an appreciation of how busy these places are on an off-peak day.
